California woman arrested for licking items at store, ruins nearly $2,000 worth of merchandise

Californian Jennifer Walker, 53, was arrested this week for allegedly licking items at a Safeway grocery store in South Lake Tahoe.

Employees witnessed her licking items, placing them in her cart, and then putting her fingers in her mouth.  Shortly after observing the disturbing behavior an employee called the police.

Upon arriving at the store, police officers discovered a cart full of items and the suspect who had to no way to pay for the cart’s contents.

Because the woman had licked and mishandled the items, store officials were unable to restock and sell the merchandise.  The result, a loss of approximately $1,800 for the store.

During a time when groceries and basic necessities have become coveted items, and sometimes fought over, we cannot afford for this strange new phenomena of individuals licking products to continue.

Walker was charged felony vandalism and is being held at the El Dorado County jail with a $10,000 bail.
