Democrat official pleads guilty to stuffing ballot boxes in Philadelphia elections

Domenick J. DeMuro, who served as a Philadelphia elections judge and Democratic Party official, plead guilty this week to altering election results by stuffing ballot boxes for Democratic candidates.  He was paid thousands of dollars to do so during elections in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

It is reported that he served as a consultant and charged clients upwards of $5,000 to rig election results.  Philadelphia prosecutors allege that he stuffed ballots for numerous elections to assist Democrats running for local, state and even federal offices.

“DeMuro fraudulently stuffed the ballot box by literally standing in a voting booth and voting over and over, as fast as he could, while he thought the coast was clear,” said U.S. Attorney William M. McSwain. “Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy. If even one vote is fraudulently rung up, the integrity of that election is compromised.”

As an example of DeMuro’s nefarious activity, in 2016 he provided receipts for 266 votes in the city’s 39th Ward, when only 220 registered voters participated in voting at that particular location.  According to court filings similar activity has occurred repeatedly throughout his years of involvement with elections.

This news comes on the heels of a nationwide debate over voting by mail, which is seen by many as an opportunity for increased fraudulent activity and a process that heavily favors Democrats.
