Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli officially entered their guilty pleas on Friday in a Zoom court hearing after they admitted that they “worked the system.”

Daily Mail reported that Loughlin and her husband were in separate rooms with their respective lawyers for the Zoom hearing, which had over 200 people on the video call. When asked what their pleas would be, both of them answered “guilty,” and the judge responded by saying they will each be sentenced on Friday, August 21.

During a brief delay in the hearing, Loughlin could be seen talking to her attorneys, sometimes laughing with them while her mic was muted. Loughlin said “yes your honor” in response to the judge’s questions, while Giannulli said “yes sir” to him. When asked to give her name, she said “Lori Ann Loughlin,” her age, (55), and her educational background was described by her as ‘”high school graduate from New York.”

Loughlin and Giannulli were accused of paying $500,000 in bribe money to have their two daughters, Isabella and Olivia Jade, admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team even though neither girl had ever rowed before. They even went so far as to pose Isabella on a rowing machine to add credence to their claims that she was a rower.

“Good news: my daughter is in at USC. Bad news is I had to work the system,” Giannulli wrote in one email presented as evidence.

While trying to then get Olivia into USC, Loughlin warned her not to tell her high school guidance counselor that the school was her top choice.

“Don’t say too much to that man,” she warned her daughter.

Loughlin and Giannulli had been fighting the charges against them for over a year, claiming that they did not know the $500,000 was bribe money and instead thought it was a legitimate donation to the school. They were each facing over forty years in prison before taking their plea deal, which has Loughlin serving two months in prison and her husband serving five.

A judge technically still has to approve the terms of their deal for the sentences to be official.
