There’s been a lot of high-profile arrests of sex traffickers and pedophiles in recent months, leading many to believe there is significant discussion behind the scenes about how to actively curb this growing problem.

And now, Trump’s latest move pretty much seals that deal in my mind.

In a bold and unprecedented move, the Trump admin is supporting victims of sex trafficking with a whopping $35 million dollar federal grant.

The grants are coming from the Justice Department and will be gifted to organizations that provide safe housing for survivors of human trafficking.

The announcement will come on Tuesday during a White House event that will be attended by Attorney General William Barr, Ivanka Trump, and survivors of human trafficking, and organizations that serve them.

From Western Journal

The $35 million in Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking is being provided by the Office for Victims of Crime within the Justice Department’s Office of Justice Programs to provide housing and services to human trafficking survivors.

The grants will be shared by 73 organizations in 33 states to provide anywhere from six to 24 months of transitional or short-term housing assistance to survivors, the White House said.

The money can also be used to help victims find permanent housing, get a job and receive occupational training and counseling.

Ivanka Trump, a daughter of President Donald Trump, said many survivors have had to live with their traffickers during stay-at-home orders around the country.

“The administration has heard these concerns and is responding by awarding leading nonprofit organizations the necessary funding to ensure that survivors have a stable place to live,” Ivanka Trump said in a statement.

Since he took office, President Trump has vowed to do something about sex trafficking. Back in January, Trump even appointed a special adviser on sex trafficking.

And now, with all this money going to victims’ organizations, you have to wonder if this isn’t just the tip of a bigger iceberg that Trump plans on exposing.

After all, Ivanka has also made human trafficking one of her top issues.

Ivanka called trafficking “modern-day slavery” and vowed that the White House is committed to ending it.
