On Thursday President Trump held a press conference regarding a new executive order that he plans to sign requiring all heath insurers to cover preexisting conditions. The event happened at his resort in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Upon hearing the news of the presser, members of the mainstream scurried to arrive on scene with hopes of getting their next sound bite that they could distort for mass distribution on their networks.

And right on cue, a reporter tried to slam the president over the fact that several people in attendance were not wearing masks, further citing that it went directly against New Jersey restrictions put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, as usual, the gotcha question backfired on the reporter and Trump got the last laugh, as did the crowd who erupted in laughter.

The reporter said to President Trump,”You said that the pandemic is disappearing, but we lost 6,000 Americans this week and just in this room you have dozens of people who are not following the guidelines in New Jersey.”
The president fired back though saying, “You’re wrong on that because it’s a political activity…They have exceptions, political activity and it’s also a peaceful protest.”

As you can hear in the video, following the boos and laughter, Trump continues with his response to the reporter, “You know, to me they look like they all pretty much have masks on, but you know, you have an exclusion in the law that says ‘peaceful protests or political activity.'”
He continued, “You can call it political activity but I would call it peaceful protest because they heard you were coming up, and they know the news is fake. They understand it better than anybody.”
