Going into the second day of the election, Americans are growing impatient as poll officials continue to count ballots. Among the few states still waiting to report numbers is Michigan. Not surprising given the number of absentee ballots turned in this year alone.

Were it to be proven true, individuals from both political parties would no doubt be concerned, and rightfully so.  However, the numbers cited were the result of a typo that was made by a Michigan county as it reported unofficial results. It was quickly corrected.

While concerns remain in certain states as people await answers, this particular story, which quickly went viral on social media, was simply not true.

Note: This story was modified on 11 December 2020 after discovering further information about the original claims of fraud, which were proven to be untrue. We no longer stand by the verbiage in the original version and have therefore adjusted the copy accordingly.  Additionally, the video which originally accompanied the article has also been stripped from the article as it too portrayed inaccurate information.
