One of the most ridiculous parts of the Instant Impeachment is that it made certain slow thinking Democrats try to explain that Trump is a danger to America…with a week left in office when they impeached him.
One week, now a day or so, won’t make a difference and they knew that. He is also now effectively defanged. Nevertheless some Democrats won’t give up the line. Certain of the ilk, however, are starting to fess up to the real goal. Which is, and always has been, denying Trump the ability to ever again run for federal office. Though why they would want to do Republicans a major favor like this is not known as of yet. But that is, if you can try a man who already is out of office. The Supremes may have something to say about that.
FNC: “While some members of Congress have claimed that President Trump’s impeachment and swift conviction are necessary to keep him from serving out the final days of his term, others have acknowledged that they are focused on keeping him from ever running again. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on the House floor before the vote on impeachment that Trump ‘must go’ and that he is ‘a clear and present danger,’ but remarks from her colleagues indicate they are concerned about what they view as a potential future threat.”
Nancy is on automatic loop and it never shuts off. Other Democrats are a tad more candid. “One of the other purposes of impeachment, in this case, is to make sure that President Trump is not able to run for federal office again, that he’s not able to seek the presidency,” said Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-TX, on Sunday.
Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-MD, told CNN’s “State of the Union” that the Constitution “talks about conviction, removal, and disqualification from holding further public office.”
“Every minute and every hour that he is in office represents a clear and present danger not just to the United States Congress but frankly to the country,” Ocasio-Cortez told media, adding that “we’re also talking about complete barring of the president, or rather of Donald Trump, from running for office ever again.” The first part is pure dumb AOC. The second is where they’re going.

From the Democrat point of view, one realistic tactician had his say, “Let’s give President-elect Biden the 100 days he needs to get his agenda off and running,” Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina said. “And maybe we will send the articles some time after that.”
