What America needs now more than ever is healing. Since the Capitol riots, both parties have called for calm and peace. But what is interesting is while the Democrats want people to come together and move forward, they continue to live in the past by attacking former President Donald Trump.

It hasn’t even been a full 24 hours since he left the White House and the Democrats continue to push forward with the idea of impeachment. Now, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi believes that Trump should be held personally liable for the so-called horror that took place on Capitol Hill.

During the last week of his presidency, Trump should have been reminiscing on the four years of accomplishments he has made, yet it was shrouded with controversy as the Democrats moved forward with articles of impeachment again. But remember, the Democrats want unity ahead of Biden taken over the White House. They want the American people to give them a chance. The same chance Donald Trump never got.

During an interview, just days after calling for unity, Pelosi said, “We have security beyond what anybody ever thought would be the need. And why? Because this president has been telling people that the election was not legitimate and these people believe him, they believe a president.”

“A president’s words are important, they weigh a ton,” Pelosi said. “And if you’re Donald Trump talking to these people, they believe it and they used his words to come here. So, when we talk about ‘did any of our colleagues collaborate?’ Well, that remains to be seen. We have to get the evidence of that.”

“And if they did, they would be accessory to the crime. And the crime, in some cases, was murder. And this president is an accessory to that crime because he instigated that insurrection that caused those deaths and this destruction.”

While Pelosi continues to try and destroy the legacy that Trump built over the past four years, it should be noted that not a single prosecutor in the country, let alone in Washington has decided to go after the former President and his imaginary involvement in the siege that was led and instigated by both sides.
