Republicans Won’t Back Down On Iran

We’ve recently covered how the Biden administration is selling out Israel and cozying up to Iran. Republicans, traditional defenders of Israel whereas the Democrats have always sided with the terrorist elements in the region, are taking Biden to task for his cowardly and craven attitudes on both Iran and Israel.

Biden has sided with Iran in Yemen, thus selling out the Saudis, and foreign ministries in the region are nervously awaiting the next bad news from Washington. But nothing is potentially worse than Biden’s views on Iran.

“This is outrageous and dangerous. Biden just legalized Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping selling arms to Iran,” Rep Joe Wilson, R-SC, said. “Why?”

“I agree Joe,” seconded Rep. Greg Steube, R-FL, who is on the House Judiciary and Foreign Affairs Committees. “Why is Biden lifting U.N. sanctions banning Putin from selling arms to Iran? Seems to warrant an investigation…”

“Not long after Iranian-backed forces attacked Americans in Iraq, President Biden is desperately trying to re-enter a failed deal and provide sanctions relief to the Iranian regime,” Senator Marco Rubio, Republican of Florida, said in a statement. “The President must make clear that he understands that Khamenei cannot be trusted to honor international agreements, and that the United States will not play into the hands of the Iranians for the next four years.” Other Republicans in both houses of Congress hammered Biden as well.

Biden is also playing dangerous election politics. Democrats have been known as soft on defense and foreign policy for decades. Since the election of Jimmy Carter not one Democrat president has been strong on national security. If Iran takes advantage, which they already are, and builds and deploys nuclear weapons Democrats and Biden could pay a high price at the polls in 2022 and 2024.

In related news, the official title of the American Ambassador to Israel has changed to “Ambassador to Israel, the West Bank and Gaza.” This early snub of Israel and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is not surprising, as Democrat staffs in Congress and in the White House are riddled with vicious anti-semites and kneejerk anti-Israeli partisans. One only need remember the words of Democrat leaders like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib to confirm that score. As it was during the Obama administration, Israel is virtually alone. Republicans can help, but only to a point.
