Both Florida and Texas have come under heavy criticism over the past few months for how they handled the coronavirus. While the Democrat-controlled states followed Biden and hid in their basements, Republican Governors like Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis not only fought the virus but boosted their economies. Even with both states making strides, the Democrats condemned their leadership and claimed thousands of lives would be lost for their decisions. But instead of the “he said, she said”, let’s take a look at the facts.

On March 21, the CDC released data showing the number of COVID-19 cases per state. Taking a look at Texas first, the report shows there are 94.6 new cases per 100,000. That comes up to a total of 27,424 COVID-19 cases in the last seven days. In Florida, 142.4 cases were reported for every 100,000. That is a sum of 30,584. So, with the total number of cases known in both states that are completely open, let’s see how they fared against a Democrat-stronghold that has been hammered with mandates – New York.

In the report, the CDC breaks down both the state of New York and its city so we can get a better grasp of the COVID-19 situation taking place in the heart of America. New York alone, excluding the city, had a staggering 213.8 cases per 100,000. That is 23,637 cases in just the last seven days. And what about the city, they reported another 260.6 cases per 100,000. That equates to 21,884 cases. When combined, the entire state saw more than 45,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the last week alone. But remember, the Democrats know exactly how to handle the virus, and don’t forget to wear that mask.

The Democrats and the media continue to hound the right and their leaders for not running from the coronavirus, but when the data is released it shows that the mandates are completely useless. New York alone surpassed both Florida and Texas case numbers by 15,000, and what do they have to show for it?

But instead of realizing their mistake, the Democrats continue to fight for more mandates. Most recently, New York released a FAQ section that is devoted to helping people protect themselves and others. There is also a section claiming that wearing “two masks” will not only give a snuggle fit but added protection against COVID-19.
