When one thinks of male Democrats, the few heterosexual ones left, the image that comes to mind in the romantic sense is not exactly of a David Niven or Cary Grant type. When they are not soy boys, Democrats tend to be louts. There was JFK and his hookers, Wilbur Mills and his stripper, Ted Kennedy and Chris Dodd and their “waitress sandwiches”. Now, in that glorious tradition comes New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and his desire to…um…well…go canine on a female aide.

FNC: “Lindsey Boylan, the first woman to prominently accuse New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment, claimed in a new interview with the New Yorker that Cuomo once told her he would attempt to ‘mount’ her if he were a dog. Boylan was New York’s deputy secretary for economic development and an adviser to Cuomo from 2015 to 2018. She is a candidate for Manhattan borough president.  Boylan’s new allegation made to the New Yorker Thursday comes after her initial December tweet that Cuomo ‘sexually harassed me for years.’ Following that accusation, multiple other women have come forward to accuse Cuomo of sexual harassment. In the latest story of alleged inappropriate comments and behavior from the governor, Boylan told the New Yorker that in February 2018, the governor brought his new dog to a press conference. The dog ‘jumped up and down near her’ the New Yorker reported. Boylan told the publication that Cuomo then said he would attempt to ‘mount” her if he was a dog.”

“I remember being grossed out but also, like, what a dumb third-grade thing to say,” Boylan said, according to the New Yorker. “I just shrugged it off.”

Points for Boylan for not immediately playing the victim. Idiots like Cuomo will display their crass sensibilities in many ways. In New York, Boylan had probably heard worse. However, the vignette does give us a glance into how Andrew Cuomo thinks about women. He, of course, is a prominent member of the self-proclaimed “Party of Women.” Though to him, they are the playthings of animals. Objects to be treated as such to satisfy his, oddly spoken as if he were a dog, carnal urges. Boylan is right. It was 3rd grade stuff. And we’d make more of a point of the comparison. But we wouldn’t want to insult third graders.
