There is a silent war being waged in America right now between Big Tech monopolies and the voice of conservatives. Since the banning of President Donald Trump, big tech has been given the green light to cancel anyone that might not agree with them. As for the Democrats, they appear too busy trying to increase the national debt to even notice that American’s First Amendment rights are being violated. And with little help coming from the comatose Joe Biden, Republicans have taken it upon themselves to fight for your right to speak your mind.

Taking the fight straight to Big Tech is none other than the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott. Accompanied with Senator Bryan Hughes, the pair introduced Senate Bill 12, which “will help prohibit social media companies from censoring Texans based on the viewpoints they express.”

After revealing Senate Bill 12, Abbott held a press conference, another thing Biden has yet to do, and said, “Conservative speech will not be canceled in the state of Texas. We see that the First Amendment is under assault by the social media companies, and that is not going to be tolerated in Texas.”

Referred to as the Senator Hugh’s Bill, Abbott said it will “protect Texans from being wrongfully censored on social media, making sure that their voices are going to be heard and not canceled or silenced.”

Abbott wasn’t the only one to give a warning to the growing censorship of social media. Senator Hughes said, “It’s sad that we have a handful of people in America today who want to control the town square, want to control social media, and want to enforce silence. If you have a viewpoint different from theirs, they want to shut you up. That’s not the American way and that is not the Texas way.”

The bill, which still has to be debated, would make social media a public forum opened to debate. That would mean that a person couldn’t be banned from posting a message that correlates with their own personal views.

While Abbott and Hughes are pushing hard for the bill, they aren’t the only ones looking to fight Big Tech. Last month, Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, became the first Republican to introduce a bill taking power away from social media giants.

With both bills gaining momentum among Americans on either side of the aisle, the days of social media censorship are definitely numbered as they continue to purge and silence without any form of restraint.
