In at least two states in the country, America is back. It is no surprise one is Texas. Lead by one of the best governors in the nation, Republican Greg Abbott, Texas is kicking the farce of virus restrictions to the curb next week after months of the virus restriction hoax. Was there a dangerous virus? Yes. Did government use it, and is still using it, to arbitrarily enhance their power over American citizens? Also yes.

Mississippi also announced a 100 percent business reopening and a drop of mask requirements by Wednesday.

But Texas is a much bigger state than Mississippi and thus the impact is larger. Abbott, though keeping a relatively low profile compared to others, could be quietly positioning himself for a presidential run. With a move like this his chances are improved.

FNC: “Texas’s Republican Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday said he planned to open the state next week ‘100%,’ roughly a year after the coronavirus pandemic broke out throughout the U.S. Abbott issued an executive order that rescinds many of the state’s previous orders, allowing all businesses in the state to fully reopen and revoking the statewide mask mandate as of next Wednesday…Abbott pointed to a number of positive statistics as he detailed the state’s reopening plans, including a reduction in active COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, and the lowest positivity rate the state has seen in months. He also noted that the vaccine is a big contributing factor to the state’s ability to safely reopen, saying that health experts expect 7 million shots to have been distributed in the state by next Wednesday.”

“To be clear, COVID has not suddenly disappeared,” Abbott said on Tuesday. “COVID still exists in Texas, the United States and across the globe, but it is clear from the recoveries, the vaccinations, from the reduced hospitalizations and from the safe practices Texans are using that state mandates are no longer needed.”

He also noted the availability of the vaccine. “Within a few months,” Abbott said, it is expected that anyone who wants to receive a shot will be able to do so.” The Biden administration has denounced the Texas and Mississippi moves. Not surprising, as they decrease government power.

In a desperate gambit to deflect from his own disastrous performance and worsening political situation, California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom called Abbott’s courageous move “absolutely reckless” in a Twitter post. No doubt Andrew Cuomo, for the same reasons, will soon follow Newsom’s putrid lead.

But the tweet will backfire on Newsom, as it will cause comparisons between the failed multiculti authoritarian socialist state of California, a state with medieval public sanitation, rampant crime, and an antipathy to the US Constitution, and Texas, a thriving state of economic progress, representative government, and a devotion to freedom. In such a comparison California would be found wanting. Greatly wanting.
