With the Democrats controlling not only the White House but the media also, it should come to no surprise when “60 Minutes” decided to run a smear campaign on GOP frontrunner, Ron DeSantis. Unlike the Democrat’s star Andrew Cuomo, DeSantis didn’t hide COVID-19 case numbers or downplay the seriousness of the virus. Instead, the Florida Governor used facts and sound judgment to lead his state through the pandemic. But mysteriously, all those points were left out of the 60 Minutes piece as they painted DeSantis as a “pay to play” politician who allowed money to dictate how he responded to the coronavirus.

Shortly after the segment aired, Twitter was on fire as people from both sides saw the hypocrisy of the story. According to CBS News, DeSantis took donations from Publix in exchange for being the main supplier of the COVID-19 vaccine in the state. While it is true that DeSantis campaign did take donations for Publix, it should also be noted that the company donated to Democrats as well. But again, this was completely left out of the special.

Now that people are seeing the lies and manipulation that the media uses, DeSantis saw it as a great opportunity to clear the air and set the record straight. He went on Tucker Carlson Monday night and didn’t mix words when it came to 60 Minutes and the people behind the segment.

“They cut out everything that showed that their narrative was a piece of horse manure. It shows how dishonest they are — smear merchants. That’s why nobody trusts corporate media. They are a disaster in what they are doing. They knew what they were doing was a lie. I knew what they were doing was a lie. We offered them the information and they declined to interview the key people because they didn’t want to let go of the narrative. Well, guess what? There’s going to be consequences for that.”

Not wanting to leave CBS in the dark, DeSantis elaborated, “I know corporate media thinks that they can just run over people. You ain’t runnin’ over this governor. I’m punchin’ back, and I’m gonna continue to do it until these smear merchants are held accountable.”

While DeSantis promises to fight back, CBS News has been extremely quiet on the matter. Not only were they caught editing parts of DeSantis’s interview to fit their narrative, but they also refrained from interviewing one of Florida’s key Democrats, who would have also destroyed their smear campaign against DeSantis.
