Sharon Osbourne Defends The Queen – Blasts Prince Harry As ‘Poster Boy Of White Privilege’

Sharon Osbourne broke her silence since leaving “The Talk” on Friday night to give an interview to talk show host Bill Maher. During this interview, she gave her thoughts on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey last month.

When Maher suggested that the royal family could be racist, as Meghan indicated in her interview, Osbourne was quick to defend them by saying that anyone joining the royal family wild receive a cold welcome.

“[The Queen] is from a different generation,” Osbourne said, according to Page Six [1]. “They are notoriously non-huggy. I get it, because of her age. She’s from a different generation.”

She went on to question Harry’s feelings about wealth and privilege.

“You know when they say white privilege? You know, right there with Harry. Right there. He is the poster boy,” Osbourne insisted. “So you know, he sits there and says ‘daddy cut him off and he’s not on the wages anymore’ and he was boohooing about it.

“You can’t feel empathy for that,” she added. “Because you’re a healthy, bright, educated young man. You can do whatever you want to do. Your life is your own.”

Osbourne left “The Talk” after a heated exchange last month in which she defended her friend Piers Morgan from claims that he was racist simply for criticizing Meghan, who is a woman of color. In last night’s interview, Osbourne defended herself by saying that she is not racist either.

“I’ve been called so many things in my life. I am so used to being called names. But a racist is one I will not take,” she said.

Osbourne also stood by the fact that she does not think Morgan is racist.

“Disagreeing with somebody does not make you a racist in my book,” she said.

Yahoo News [2] reported that both Osbourne and Maher slammed “cancel culture,” with her saying, “I’m going to be fine … I’m a fighter.”

This interview came one day before the funeral of Prince Philip, who died at the age of 99 last month. It remains to be seen if Osbourne will be able to recover from this scandal and make a return to television someday.
