Hillary Clinton Warns Biden There Will Be ‘Huge Consequences’ From Withdrawing Troops From Afghanistan

The two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton spoke out on Sunday to warn that there will be “huge consequences” from President Joe Biden withdrawing American troops from Afghanistan.

During an interview with CNN, [1] Clinton was asked about Biden’s plan to withdraw troops by September 11, which will be the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“It’s one thing to pull out troops that have been supporting security in Afghanistan, supporting the Afghan military, leaving it pretty much to fend for itself, but we can’t afford to walk away from the consequences of that decision,” Clinton said.

After admitting that this decision was a “difficult” one, Clinton claimed that there will be “two huge consequences” from it: a Taliban-controlled Afghan government and subsequent “huge refugee outflow.”

Clinton also said that there could be “a largely Taliban-run government at some point in the not-too-distant future” in Afghanistan.

“How do we help and protect the many, many thousands of Afghans who worked with the United States and NATO, who worked with American and other NATO-connected contractors who stood up and spoke out for women’s rights and human rights?” she questioned. “I hope that the administration in concert with the Congress will have a very large visa program and will begin immediately to try to provide that channel for so many Afghans to utilize so that they are not left in danger.”

“There will also be, I fear, a huge refugee outflow,” Clinton added. “And of course the second big set of problems revolves around a resumption of activities by global terrorist groups, most particularly al Qaeda and the Islamic State.”

Former President Donald Trump had set a deadline of withdrawing all American troops from Afghanistan by May 1, but Biden was not able to meet it.

This comes after we reported [2] that Clinton had given Biden an “A” grade as a president.

“I give him an ‘A,’ and I’m a hard grader,” Clinton said in this same interview. “I would give him an “A” on effort. He’s done a couple of things so well, Fareed. He has once again embodied and modeled what a president should act like in the Oval Office, in the White House, in the world at large with dignity, with purposefulness, with care for what he says and how he treats people.”
