The leftists are all excited over Biden’s latest attempt to reward cities who shield criminal illegal aliens from ICE and make us less safe. 

The Biden Harris Obama administration has ended former President Trump’s limitations on grant funding for sanctuary cities. The limitations were put in place for cities that didn’t fully cooperate with ICE officers. The new memorandum was signed on April 14th by Attorney General Merrick Garland.

The policy was put in place by former Attorney General Jeff Sessions and made the funding that cities received dependent on whether they allowed the feds access to jail detainees to inquire about their immigration status – and the feds wanted to be given 48 hours notice before any inmates were released.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, is giddy about the change and doesn’t mind throwing American citizens under the bus in a city that’s already overwhelmed with crime and is the number one American target for terrorism. He gushed, “New York City is proud to be a welcoming and inclusive city for immigrants. We are thrilled by the news that the Department of Justice has recognized that anti-immigrant policies do not make our communities safer. Donald Trump’s vindictive attempt to withhold grants from cities that stand up for our immigrant neighbors was inhumane and unacceptable, which is why we joined localities across the country to challenge these policies in court. I look forward to working with the Biden administration to empower all our communities — including immigrants — to thrive.”

In addition to that, according to WJHL, another policy was enacted last week from the Biden administration which says that ICE is “no longer authorized to carry out routine arrests at courthouses, a practice that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said discouraged people from attending court hearings and cooperating with law enforcement.”

Leftists, of course, don’t think enough is being done. Naureen Shah, policy counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union, thinks that exceptions for national security and public safety are too broad.

She doesn’t want to upset the poor illegal alien criminals or stress them out. 

Even if the illegal aliens are not charged with crimes when they are in court, they still aren’t going to like the immigration authorities near the courthouse giving them the stink eye. We must make them more comfortable and keep those meanie ICE agents away from them.
