Surprisingly, while states like Florida and Texas are 100 percent open, there are some states like California that are still somehow fighting the pandemic. It honestly should come as no surprise since states that are still in lockdown are Democratic strongholds. And although it has been suggested by experts that people can return to their normal lives, Democrats like California Governor Gavin Newsom are still pushing outrageous COVID-19 mandates that do nothing but strip away at America’s freedoms.

Speaking of Governor Newsom, he recently announced a new system that is designed to verify if a person has been vaccinated. But before you go and try to label it as a “vaccine passport”, Newsom assures citizens it is anything but. Choosing his words wisely, Newsom said, “We would look to help support those efforts and modernize the opportunities, and we’ll be making some announcements very shortly in that space. There is no mandate, no requirement, no passport. It’s just the ability now to have an electronic version of that paper version, so you’ll hear more about that in the next couple of days.”

It’s interesting that Newsom would suggest it isn’t some type of passport when the system will allow “businesses” to check if a person has been vaccinated or not. Not to mention, the topic of “vaccine passports” has been controversial since the vaccine was first announced.

Just last month, Senator Ted Cruz headed a bill that would ultimately “ban” the government from instituting any type of vaccine passport on the American people. He said, “Americans shouldn’t be discriminated against because of” their vaccine status, “whether that is at work or in everyday life. Americans have a well-established right to privacy that any mandated” passport “would destroy.” Cruz went on to add that a passport “would be discriminatory against people who, for whatever reason, do not get it”.

As for California, the newly updated COVID-19 guidance took effect on June 15th and allows “vaccinated” citizens to return to life as normal. For those that are unvaccinated, the state still wants them to wear masks, social distance, and act as if the world is ending at any particular moment. And while life might be somewhat normal for vaccinated people, let’s not forget Newsom’s plan that is definitely not a vaccine passport.
