While Democrat strongholds are still in lockdown, fearing the resurgence of COVID-19, Republicans are proving that the only thing to fear is the liberal agenda. Since the pandemic started, one Republican Governor has not let politics dictate how his state handles COVID-19. Using facts and science, Gov. Ron DeSantis not only proved all the critics wrong but this past weekend, Florida played host to one of the largest music festivals since the lockdowns. And there wasn’t a mask in sight… 

Celebrating the entire weekend, people from all over America traveled to Florida to enjoy the Gulf Coast Jam music festival. And not wanting people to have too much fun without him, DeSantis made a surprise appearance on the last day of the event, Sunday. And if you were remotely wondering, the crowd erupted in applause when the governor emerged on stage.

Enjoying the music and overall vibe, DeSantis didn’t take up too much time as country singer Luke Bryan was slated to perform after his speech. Still, the Governor expressed a debt of gratitude to the state of Florida for using facts not emotions to handle the COVID-19 pandemic, saying, “Florida chose freedom over Fauci-ism.”

With the crowd still cheering him on, DeSantis gave some simple advice that even Democrats could understand. “My message for other states and other countries: open you states, open your schools, let people live their lives, don’t make them wear masks.”

It should also be noted that Florida was projected to be one of the worst-hit states. DeSantis echoed this statement, proving that the Democrats and definitely Dr. Fauci manipulated the virus for their own personal gain.

“Our state was predicted to get hit worse on COVID economically than any other state because of our service economy and our tourism base. And what we were able to do by keeping Florida open, we saved hundreds of thousands of jobs in the restaurant, hotel, hospitality industry. We saved thousands of businesses. In some parts of the country, these businesses are dead. They’re never coming back. This is the heavy hand of government crushing family businesses, ruining jobs and destroying millions of people’s lives. We chose another path in Florida; it was the right path; it was the successful path.” 

Letting the fans get back to enjoying their evening, the governor was sure to tweet about the event. “Nothing says Florida is open like a night of live music at the @Pepsi @GulfCoastJam, the largest music festival since the pandemic began.”
