WATCH: Gov. DeSantis Sends Help As Border Crisis Hits 21-Year High

With it already being known that the Democrats and the White House have abandoned the Southern Border, Republicans refuse to let America be overrun as they continue to fight the influx of immigrants. Just last week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that he would be building his own wall along Mexico. And it doesn’t stop there as former President Donald Trump also announced that he would be visiting the border at the end of June. Now, showing that the Republican Party is stronger than ever, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is also joining the fight to secure America.

On Wednesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference, without any Biden cheat sheets, where he announced he would be answering requests from Texas and Arizona to help them sustain the crisis.

“These states have sent Florida support when we’ve responded to emergencies here in our state. And they wanted support so that they could do what the federal government is either unwilling or unable to do: secure the border and protect the people not just of their states, but of the entire country because of the nationwide impact that has.”

DeSantis went on to add, “We believe that securing the southern border is important for our country, but specifically we believe it will benefit the people of Florida to be able to get this under control. And so where the federal government has failed, the states are stepping up and doing our best to fill the void.”

According to details, Gov. DeSantis will be deploying law enforcement officers from various precincts around the state. This will include the Florida Highway Patrol and other state agencies that could be of use.

The help from DeSantis couldn’t come at a better time since the Customs and Border Protection has been setting dangerous records since Biden took office. Just last month, CBP apprehended over 180,000 immigrants trying to cross the border. For those that don’t know, that is a 21-year high.

As for Trump, he’s excited to visit the border and help out any way he can. When speaking to reporters, Trump said, “My visit will hopefully shine a spotlight on these crimes against our Nation — and show the incredible people of ICE and Border Patrol that they have our unshakeable support.”
