BLM Releases Statement Defending Cuba’s Communist Regime, Blames US Instead

For days now, the citizens of Cuba have become victims of their communist dictatorship as they have called for freedom. Videos and stories are slowly emerging from Cuba as its dictator shut down the internet so Cubans couldn’t spread the message about the horrible conditions they are placed under. Calling for help and aid, some Cuban Americans even tried to send help using their own boats. But while many Americans are standing by the people of Cuba as they fight for their freedom, it appears that Black Lives Matter has ignored the police brutality as they released a statement blaming America for the violent protests against the communist regime.

Black Lives Matter, which was founded by “Marxists”, doesn’t believe the troubles Cubans are facing are from their dictator, but due to the US embargo. They claimed it was a “cruel and inhumane policy instituted with the explicit intention of destabilizing the country and undermining Cubans’ right to choose their own government.”

Talking to reporters, BLM stated, “The people of Cuba are being punished by the U.S. government because the country has maintained its commitment to sovereignty and self-determination. United States leaders have tried to crush this revolution for decades.”

As for President Miguel Diaz-Canel, who many Cubans are calling to step down and allow them their freedom, BLM actually praised his regime and blamed his shortcomings not on communism but on the people who are revolting. “Cuba has historically demonstrated solidarity with oppressed peoples of African descent.” They also pointed out how Cuba protected Black revolutionaries like Assata Shakur. If that name doesn’t ring a bell, he was a former Black Panther who escaped prison in 1979 for murdering a New Jersey state trooper execution-style.

While BLM might be standing up for communism, many Americans, like Senator Marco Rubio, couldn’t help but point out the hypocrisy of the movement that once fought against police brutality.  Rubio Tweeted, “The extortionist ring known as the Black Lives Matter organization took a break today from shaking down corporations for millions & buying themselves mansions to share their support for the Communist regime in #Cuba.”

Senator Ted Cruz, who is the son of a Cuban immigrant also chimed in, tweeting, “It has brutalized & denied freedom to generations of Cubans, and forced my family & so many others to flee. The American people stand squarely with the men & women of Cuba and their noble fight for liberty.
