Maid Stumbles On Weapons Cache Outside MLB All-Star Game, Police Notified

This week, baseball fans all around the world are predicted to converge on Coors Field for the MLB’s All-Star festivities and game. Usually the home of the Colorado Rockies, the field is being shared with some of the best baseball talent the sport has to offer. And thanks to a maid who accidentally stumbled onto a weapons cache inside one of the hotel rooms, law enforcement was able to act quickly and stop what they believe could have been a “Las Vegas style shooting.”

It was back in October 2017 when concert-goers were opened fire on while attending a country music festival in Las Vegas. The lone gunman used his position in a hotel room adjacent to the concert to open fire on innocent people. In the end, 60 people lost their lives and another 400 were treated for gunshot wounds.

Being the first to report, KMGH-TV said, “Sources said police removed 16 long guns, body armor and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition from the room which featured a balcony overlooking the downtown area. The sources said they feared the number of weapons, ammo, vantage point and large crowds could have resulted in a “Las Vegas-style shooting.” Based on the information provided by the hotel employee, police executed a search warrant and found the guns, ammo, body armor and a man inside the room on the eighth floor.”

Again, thanks to law enforcement and a maid, no lives were lost and the police were able to arrest three men and one woman. Law enforcement even revealed that one of the men was recently divorced and even shared on Facebook that he wished to “go out in a big way.”

One of the residents, Drake Voell, was staying at the hotel with his family where the weapons stash was found. He told reporters,”[My family] heard a maid walked into the hotel room and she saw a bunch of guns laid out. Then they found a white SUV on the road and all doors were unlocked and there was a laptop on the dashboard open, so it was a very suspicious vehicle.”

With the FBI getting involved and the investigation ongoing, they claim, “We have no reason to believe this incident was connected to terrorism or a threat directed at the All-Star Game. We are not aware of any threat to the All-Star Game events, venues, players, or the community at this time.”
