It is no coincidence the veep is out of the country. She is staying as far away from the Washington fallout of the Afghanistan disaster as she possibly can. She stuck a sideways dagger into Biden for having “shown great emotion in expressing sadness about some of the images we have seen.” Really? Showed great emotion? That’s been his best move according to his veep? Ouch. “There will be and should be a robust analysis of what has happened” but repeated that “right now, there is no question that our focus has to be on evacuating American citizens.” Again, the pivot to evacuation so she doesn’t have to answer the question.
