Nancy Pelosi Claims Weapons Left Behind For Taliban Is Normal

There is still a lot of mystery around the Taliban rising to power once again in Afghanistan. Already knowing that it was President Biden’s sole decision to pull troops out so quickly, many Americans and now even Senators are wondering why so much material and weaponry, including Black Hawk helicopters, were left behind.

A total of 25 Senators, led by Republican Marco Rubio, sent a letter to the Secretary of Defense wanting full accountability on why so much equipment was left. “We were horrified to see U.S. equipment – including UH-60 Black Hawks – in the hands of the Taliban.” The letter continued, “It is unconscionable that high-tech military equipment paid for by U.S. taxpayers has fallen into the hands of the Taliban and their terrorist allies. Securing U.S. assets should have been among the top priorities for the U.S. Department of Defense prior to announcing the withdrawal from Afghanistan.”

While most of the Biden Administration is completely silent on the matter, Speaker Nancy Pelosi couldn’t shy away from the spotlight with her own half-baked explanation. But first, Pelosi had to take up for Biden.“Well, I do believe that the President’s decision was based on one that reduced the prospect of any attack on our homeland.  And the President has made it very clear to the Taliban: any assault on any American entity or person would be met forcefully.”

Making sure that none of the blame could fall back on Biden, Pelosi continued with how the Taliban is now in control of a sizable armory.“So, this is what happens when you withdraw.  Some stuff, some equipment is left there.  It was thought that that would be used – it was hoped that it would be used by the Afghan military to defend its own country.  The fact that it did not and could not was all more the reason for us to leave.”

Although Pelosi and the rest of the Democrats are more worried about the COVID-19 pandemic, it should be noted that the total of how much was left behind is “tens of billions of dollars’ worth of U.S. military equipment” that is now, “in the hands of the Taliban.”
