Over the weekend, the country seemed to pause for a moment as President Joe Biden, surrounded by family members, welcomed home the remains of the service members killed in the terror attack in Kabul, Afghanistan. Being a somber moment, the families were in shambles as the 13 heroes were removed from the plane. Well, at least the families were concerned as Biden apparently checked his watch during the ceremony. And if that didn’t have voters questioning his leadership, Biden’s private meetings with the families didn’t go all that well either.

Standing with his wife and the first lady, Dr. Jill Biden, at Dover Air Force Base, the Washington Post reported the President, “paid his respects to the 13 Americans killed in last week’s suicide bombing in Afghanistan as his military leaders tried to avert more carnage in the final days of a chaotic withdrawal from the country, carrying out a strike on a vehicle in Kabul that officials said posed a terrorist threat.”
One of the soldiers lost in the line of duty was Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum, who is left behind by his wife, who just so happens to be expecting a child within a few weeks.
According to the Washington Posts, McCollum’s widow was accompanied by her family, who were there to support her, but didn’t want to meet with President Biden. “One of McCollum’s sisters, Roice, said she and her sister and her father joined McCollum’s wife, Jiennah McCollum, on the trip. But when it came time to meet with the president, they left the room, because she said they did not want to speak with the man they held responsible for McCollum’s death.”

While McCollum’s wife is silent on the matter, her sister, Roice told the papers, “The president brought up his son, Beau, according to her account, describing his son’s military service and subsequent death from cancer. It struck the family as scripted and shallow, a conversation that lasted only a couple of minutes in ‘total disregard to the loss of our Marine.’”
Roice also added, “You can’t f— up as bad as he did and say you’re sorry. This did not need to happen, and every life is on his hands.”
