Although President Joe Biden hasn’t even spent an entire year in the White House, a common thread of running from problems and simply not talking about it has become the new normal. With the world watching in horror as the Taliban retakes Afghanistan, many are looking and waiting for President Biden to take an official stance. To date, all Biden has done has attacked Trump and the former Administration. Not being bothered to take questions, reporters are now flocking to Vice President Kamala Harris for answers, and well – her response is anything but reassuring.
While embarking on her Southeast Asia tour, Harris was caught off guard by a reporter when they asked, “What’s your response to reports of Americans—”.
Reporter: “What’s your response to reports of Americans—“
Kamala Harris: “Hold on. Hold on. Slow down everybody. Hahaha. Um, I want to talk about two things. First, Afghanistan — we couldn’t have a higher priority right now.”pic.twitter.com/oUv9yAtDfk

That is all the reporter is able to get out when Harris interrupts them. “Hold on, hold on, hold on. Slow down, everybody.” Trying to get her bearings, Harris tries to change the conversation by giving one of her famous laughs, but with the jet engines in the background and Americans wanting answers – it came off as absurd.
After her trademark laugh, Harris continued, “I want to talk about two things. First, Afghanistan— We couldn’t have a higher priority right now. And in particular, high priority is making sure that we safely evacuate American citizens, Afghans who worked with us, Afghans at risk, including women and children, and that is one of our highest if not the highest priority right now.”
As for the reporter, they were never able to get their question out fully, so Harris was yet again able to change the conversation. But while Harris might have dodged another tough question, voters were quick to point out how crazy her words were.
One user stated, “‘We couldn’t have a higher property right now. That’s why I’m going to board this plane and depart this self-inflicted catastrophe.’”
Following the same narrative, another user added, “If her highest priority ‘right’ is getting American’s out of Afghanistan, then why is she LEAVING THE COUNTRY when our American’s need her in DC doing her job in trying to do everything possible to get them out?”

As for Harris, she will not return to the U.S. until Thursday after she has visited both Singapore and Vietnam, but again – neither Harris nor Biden have plans to visit or help Afghanistan.
