The Emmy Awards took place in Hollywood on Sunday night, and many were outraged by the hypocrisy of the “woke” stars who ditched masks for the event, only making the “hired help” mask up.

Viewers were stunned when not the vast majority of celebrities did not wear masks to the 73rd annual Emmy Awards even though Hollywood stars have constantly been calling on the rest of us to follow all of the COVID-19 guidelines. They also did not practice social distancing, as they were frequently seen hugging each other and speaking to one another closely.

Though host Cedric The Entertainer made a point of saying during the show that all attendees had to show proof of vaccination and test negative for COVID-19, many were fuming at the lack of requirements for this event, according to Fox News.

“Why is it that only ‘the help’ have to wear masks at the Emmys? First, it was the Met Gala. And now this. It seems that Covid-19 gives you a pass if you are wearing a black-tie or a designer dress. Or maybe it is just one rule for one group…and one for another,” one social media user commented.

This user was referring to last week’s Met Gala, where A-list attendees also neither wore masks nor practiced social distancing.

“No Masks at the #Emmys because rules are for the little people,” someone else wrote, with another user commenting, “Is ‘science’ the reason celebrities don’t need masks at the Emmys, but all the hourly employees do?”

“No masks being worn INSIDE at The Emmys. Call me not shocked, love to preach but not practice what they preach…” said another Twitter user, with one other person saying, “Seth Rogen starting off the Emmys by addressing the elephant in the room that no one is social distancing or wearing masks and everyone is essentially squeezed inside a giant tent.”

This user was referring to comedian Seth Rogan calling out the Emmys for the lack of safety precautions during the show.

“Let me start by saying there is way too many of us in this little room! What are we doing?” the actor said. “They said this was outdoors! It’s not! They lied to us.”

Not stopping there, Rogan said that their room was comparable to a “hermetically sealed tin.”

“I would not have come to this,” he said. “Why is there a roof? It is more important that we have three chandeliers than that we make sure we don’t kill Eugene Levy tonight. That is what has been decided.”

Levy is a 74-year-old comedic actor whose age puts him at risk for complications from COVID-19.

Rogan said it was “insane” for so many people to be packed into such a space.

“I went from wiping my groceries to having Paul Bettany sneeze in my face. That’s a big week,” he continued. “If anyone is going to sneeze in my face, Paul, I want it to be you. All right, that’s all the jokes I wrote.”

MORE NEWS: No Show Today

The hypocrisy of these stars is unfortunately not surprising, given that this is how the left has behaved throughout this pandemic. They love lecturing the rest of us about what to do and how to live our lives, yet they don’t want to have to follow these rules themselves.

“Rules for thee but not for me” indeed.
