Although the Democrats don’t want to admit it or even talk about it, the Southern border is in shambles. While Governor Greg Abbott does everything within his power to keep the walls from collapsing, the Biden administration has basically abandoned the border for more pressing matters, like President Joe Biden’s long vacation weekend. Acting as if the border crisis is simply not happening, the Democrats did admit they know about it when they tried to push a narrative that patrol agents on horseback were “whipping” illegal immigrants trying to cross the border.

Over the weekend, both news and video evidence went viral of close to 16,000 illegal immigrants camping under the International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas. Again, with no help from Washington or the White House, Gov. Abbott has had to rely on border patrol agents and law enforcement officers. With many working around the clock to maintain that the border is safe, the Democrats thought it was a wise idea to spread false rumors that these heroes were actually mistreating and in some cases, beating migrants. 

While Gov. Abbott personally wrote a letter to President Biden asking for help controlling the border; not a single prominent Democrat has spoken on the matter until now. 

On Monday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi finally decided to break her silence and address the situation at the border. But it wasn’t to thank the officers who are protecting the country. No, instead, Pelosi condemned them for mistreating migrants. She tweeted, “Reports of the mistreatment of Haitian migrants fleeing violence and devastation from natural disasters are deeply troubling, including the inappropriate use of what appear to be whips by Border Patrol officers on horseback to intimidate migrants.”

With the rumors quickly spreading, the border patrol released a statement of their own, while dealing with a border crisis, assuring Americans that they are treating migrants fairly and that the accusations are completely false.

The statement reads, “Agents use their reins for a lot of reasons. Primarily it’s used to steer the horse, but agents will also spin them sometimes to deter people from getting too close to the horse…We are not aware of anyone being struck with the reins.”
