Sec of State Avoids Answering Q’s on FBI Interviews, Blames Trump for Poor Afghanistan Withdrawal

During a Monday interview [1], Secretary of State Antony Blinken appeared to refuse [1] to answer whether he’d been interviewed by the FBI for various investigations since taking up his position.

Republican Pennsylvania Representative Scott Perry said, “A little off-topic here, but I think it is interesting. How long was your recent interview with the FBI and was it a deposition?”

Blinken, who could not be bothered to attend the hearing in person even though he was only three miles away, said he didn’t know what Perry was talking about and that it would be inappropriate to comment on the topic.

“Are you saying you have not had an interview with the FBI since becoming the Secretary Of State?” Perry pressed further. “I am not asking you to comment on the legal proceedings. I am just asking if you have been interviewed by the FBI since becoming Secretary Of State.”

“Again,” Blinken said, “I am not going to comment one way or another on any legal proceedings or not that may or may not have happened.”

The Daily Caller spoke to Perry about the line of questioning. “My concerns continue to escalate with regard to Secretary Blinken’s credibility and judgment,” Perry told the news outlet. “I was informed that the Secretary was interviewed by the FBI with regard to Hunter Biden, Burisma, and his Blue Star Strategies. The Secretary’s response – and evident discomfort thereof – was very telling.”

“We inherited a deadline. We did not inherit a plan,” Blinken testified, ignoring [5] the fact that the “inherited” deadline was pushed up by the Biden administration without actually knowing how it would be carried out. “There’s no evidence that staying longer would have made the Afghan security forces or the Afghan government any more resilient or self-sustaining.”

The New York Post [6] authors have, and continue to, pushed for Blinken’s prompt resignation from his position as Secretary of State.

Meanwhile, Florida Republican Representative Brian Mast said he didn’t [9] even want to hear the testimony of Blinken because he didn’t want to her “lies.”

“I don’t want to hear from the secretary,” Mast said. “He lies to us when he appears before us. I don’t want to hear the secretary. We don’t need to hear lies.”

There are still about 100 Americans stuck in Afghanistan.
