FNC: “The White House said the Taliban have been ‘businesslike and professional’ in their dealings on allowing Americans to leave Afghanistan, calling the dialogue ‘cooperative’ and casting it as a ‘positive first step.’

The U.S. government said it facilitated the safe evacuation of American citizens and lawful permanent residents from Afghanistan on Thursday on a chartered Qatar Airways flight that safely landed in Qatar. The White House National Security Council issued a statement on the evacuation from Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, saying the Taliban was ‘cooperative’ in the effort.”

“We have been working intensely across the U.S. government to ensure the accuracy of the manifest and the safe departure and transit of the aircraft, and today’s safe flight is the result of careful and hard diplomacy and engagement. The Taliban have been cooperative in facilitating the departure of American citizens and lawful permanent residents on charter flights from HKIA,” NSC spokeswoman Emily Horne said in a statement. “They have shown flexibility, and they have been businesslike and professional in our dealings with them in this effort,” Horne noted. “This is a positive first step.”

Donald Trump was having none of that horse manure. “These are the people that knocked down the World Trade Center. These are the people who have treated people so inhumanely, so badly,” Trump said. “I mean, we have been fighting them for 25 years, and to think that they’re now reliable?”

“They never would have come anywhere near us. It wouldn’t have happened, they wouldn’t have taken over anything,” Trump said. “They knew that if they did, they would be bombed into hell. They knew that — and that’s why they never would have come in to fill this vacuum… We created this big open wound, a void, and the Taliban just came in and filled it, and within 24 hours, they controlled the whole country. .When I heard they were taking the military out, I thought, that’s inconceivable,” Trump said.

What should Biden say to Gold Star parents? “It would be easier, and probably more politically correct, for me to just say, ‘hang in there,’ and just, ‘something will happen.’ Trump said. “But they should be very angry. They cannot feel even a little bit good or optimistic, because we have an administration that doesn’t know what they’re doing…No man, no woman left behind. But we left, what could be, thousands…We had tremendous airpower, which they now have, and it’s not even believable…But the U.S. looks like a bunch of fools right now. We look like we surrendered. We look like we ran.”
