Jen Psaki may be the worst spin doctor in Washington. Her answers, especially to questions posed by FNC reporter Peter Doocy, range on the absurd. Mostly they are non-sequiters. It’s like watching Dada performance art. Here are two recent examples.

FNC: “White House press secretary Jen Psaki claimed that unaccompanied illegal immigrant children being flown from the southern border to suburban New York at 2:30 a.m. were not being flown ‘in the middle of the night.’ ”

“Why is the administration flying thousands of migrants from the border to Florida & New York in the middle of the night?” Doocy asked Psaki on Tuesday. “Well, I’m not sure that it’s in the middle of the night,” Psaki responded.

“2:30 a.m., 4:29 a.m…Here we are talking about early flights, earlier than you might like to take a flight.”

“It is our legal responsibility to safely care for unaccompanied children until they can be swiftly reunited with a parent or a vetted sponsor,” Psaki added. “In recent weeks, unaccompanied children have passed through the Westchester airport…en route to their final destination to be reunited with their parents or vetted sponsor. It’s no surprise that kids can be seen travelling through states, it’s not just New York.”

And then Biden was caught without a mask at a DC restaurant over the weekend? “There is a mask requirement inside D.C. restaurants,” Doocy said, “yet President Biden and the first lady were not wearing masks while walking around a D.C. restaurant on Saturday. Why?”

“Well, I think what we are referring to is a photo of them walking out of a restaurant after they had eaten, masks in hand, where they had not had put them back on yet,” Psaki said. “So I would say, of course, there are moments when we all don’t put masks back on as quickly as we should. But I don’t think we should lose the forest through the trees here in that our objective here is to get more people vaccinated, make sure that that schools and companies around the country can put in place requirements to save more lives and keep people safer and not overly focus on moments in time that don’t reflect overarching policy.” Dear lord. And she gets paid for this?
