Vice President Kamala Harris emerged this week to participate in the National Congress of American Indians 78th Annual Convention. During a speech at the event she slammed those who discovered the very land she was speaking on, calling them perpetrators of violence.
“Since 1934, every October, the United States has recognized the voyage of the European explorers who first landed on the shores of the Americas,” said Harris. “But that is not the whole story. That has never been the whole story.
“Those explorers ushered in a wave of devastation for Tribal nations — perpetrating violence, stealing land, and spreading disease,” she continued. “We must not shy away from this shameful past, and we must shed light on it and do everything we can to address the impact of the past on Native communities today.”
During the same speech she pivoted to push the radical, and country altering Build, Back, Better agenda, describing how it would help Native Americans with issues related to unemployment, poverty, healthcare and more. However, she left out one key point…it won’t.
And while injustice has occurred toward the Native American communities and struggles persist on reservations throughout the country, the $3.5 trillion dollar plan to further usher in communism in America is simply not the answer their community needs, or any community for that matter. Rather it will make the situation worse for some with the goal of making it equally bad for everyone across the board…except for the elite of course. They will be just fine.
