Respected actor Morgan Freeman, who has a voice God envies, does not go along with many of his fellow actors and understands that while law enforcement should always be open to improvements, to defund the police is a dangerous and asinine way to go about it.

The entire movement was a Democrat sop to the radical left during the 2020 election cycle. But now the Democrats are stuck with it as they head into the 2022 election cycle. With urban crime skyrocketing across the nation, and with all the other disasters Joe Biden has on his hands, they want to forget about this absurd proposal.

But not only are Republicans on their case, swing voters are likely not going to forget. And the victims of crime, urban voters, may also be disinclined to support a party that wants to make their lives more dangerous and crime-ridden. Thus Democrats and their hard left allies may pay on this issue. Too bad the Republican National Committee probably can’t get Freeman to narrate a political ad on the subject. If so, Nancy Pelosi would concede tomorrow.

FNC: “Actor Morgan Freeman broke with the progressive left during a recent interview and said he does not support the movement to strip funding from police departments across the country.”

“I’m not in the least bit for defunding the police,” Freeman said in an interview with Black Enterprise’s Selena Hill. “Police work is, aside from all the negativity around it, it is very necessary for us to have them and most of them are guys that are doing their job. They’re going about their day-to-day jobs.” The co-star of a recent Freeman film agreed. “Well, I agree with Morgan,” Frankie Faison told Hill. “I’m certainly not in favor of defunding policemen.”

Freeman continued. “Look at the past year in our country – that sums it up. It’s time we are equipping police officers with training and ensuring ‘law enforcement’ is not defined only as a gun and a stick. Policing should be about that phrase ‘To Serve’ found on most law enforcement vehicles.” Exactly. Common sense reform? Of course. Doing so by hurting law enforcement? No.
