Outraged leftist students at Arizona State University are demanding that the school withdraw recently acquitted student Kyle Rittenhouse and kick him off campus.
Specifically, The Arizona State University Students for Socialism, Students for Justice in Palestine, Multicultural Solidarity Coalition, and MECHA de ASU believe Rittenhouse to be a “murderer” and have issued statements against him.
On Nov. 19, jurors concluded their deliberations and found Rittenhouse not guilty of all allegations leveled against him. After fatally shooting two individuals and injuring a third during rioting in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Aug. 25, 2020, he faced charges.
And while the students can certainly make their requests, it is clear that they don’t understand our country’s legal system or the concept of self defense. The Rittenhouse case was clear, and had it not involved such contentious discussion in the media it would have not been drug out so long. But they also don’t understand the concept of kicking someone “off campus.” Kyle Rittenhouse is registered as an ONLINE student at Arizona State University.
Still, the groups have made audacious demands to the university, demanding the school “reaffirm support for the multicultural center on campus as a safe haven against White Supremacy.”
The students also want the administration to divert funds from the Arizona State University Police Department to the multicultural center, as well as “the development of a care center on campus,” according to their demands.
On December 1, the organizations will hold a “Rally and Protest to Get Murderer Kyle Rittenhouse Off Our Campus” at Arizona State University.
