A 52-year-old prominent New Brunswick cardiologist who shamed the unvaccinated over the summer died suddenly in his sleep after getting his third shot of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Back in July, Dr. Sohrab Lutchmedial lashed out at the “selfish” people who have refused to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

“For those that won’t get the shot for selfish reasons – whatever – I won’t cry at their funeral,” Dr. Lutchmedial tweeted on July 10, according to The Gateway Pundit. [3]
Dr. Lutchmedial died unexpectedly on November 8, just two weeks after getting his 3rd jab on October 24.
“It is with profound sadness that we report the sudden and unexpected death of a colleague, friend, father, partner, and inspiring spirit,” staffers at the New Brunswick Heart Centre said in a statement obtained by CBC News [3].
Jean-François Légaré, the head of cardiac surgery at the New Brunswick Heart Centre, said that Lutchmedial died in his sleep at his home in Saint John. His friends, family, and coworkers are said to be in shock over his death.
“It was sudden, unexpected for all of us. He was actually on call yesterday morning,” Légaré said. “I think all of us are having a hard time just sort of grasping at the size of the loss … We chatted with him on the weekend about plans and things we were going to do, you know, in the next few weeks, few months for the heart centre. That’s the kind of person he was. He was always thinking ahead of those things.”
“He did more than medicine,” Légaré added. “[He] was an artist. He was a musician. He participated in filmmaking in the province. He was a hockey coach for his kids. He was participating in the community. He was an avid researcher.”
The New Brunswick Medical Society released a statement through its president Dr. Mark MacMillan saying that it is “deeply saddened” by Lutchmedial’s death.
“Dr. Lutchmedial was a valued member of the medical community in Saint John and across the province,” MacMillan said. “We offer our condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and patients.”
Unsurprisingly, the media is largely ignoring the fact that Lutchmedial died so soon after getting his third jab of the COVID-19 vaccine. While it’s, of course, said that Lutchmedial lost his life, perhaps he should have focused a little more on researching the effects of the COVID-19 vaccine and a little less on shaming those who choose not to get it.
