While the Biden administration and Democrats have hurled America into a state of panic thanks to their poor leadership, Republicans continue to hold the line. Neither President Joe Biden nor his Vice President Kamala Harris will even mention the Southern border as Texas Governor Greg Abbott exhausts every resource trying to keep America secure. Not to mention, the current attack on the unvaccinated waged by the Democrats and the surge in gas prices. While Americans might not agree on all things, it is a common fact that gas was drastically cheaper one year ago under former President Donald Trump. And although President Biden wants to play the blame game, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is stepping up, hoping to help Americans at the pump.

Making the announcement on Monday, Governor DeSantis introduced a new initiative that would grant more than $1 billion in gas relief aid. The gas tax initiative would save the average Florida family around $200.

Speaking alongside leaders in the gas and transportation industry, DeSantis said, “Gas prices have been rising due to inflationary pressures from bad federal policies, so we here in Florida need to step up and provide relief to our citizens. Today, I am proposing that during session, the Florida Legislature provide more than $1 billion in gas tax relief for Florida families. This will have a positive impact on millions of Floridians.”

As gas prices rise and the supply chain crisis worsens, Governor DeSantis is determined to fix the issues not only for his state but for the country, especially given that President Biden appears clueless as to why or what is happening.

Standing with DeSantis, Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez added, “I’m proud to stand alongside a Governor who puts Floridians first every day. With inflation and gas prices on the rise, Governor DeSantis’ proposal to the Legislature of a five-month gas tax holiday will empower our Florida families and businesses who have felt the impacts of Biden’s reckless policies.”
