Thanks to the leadership of the Democrats, many liberal strongholds throughout the country are seeing drastic spikes in crime. And it isn’t just violence. In the last few months, there have been numerous videos of thieves ransacking businesses and corporations, stealing thousands of dollars in a matter of minutes. And most of the time, these convicts escape as the videos of their daring robberies go viral. But while gangs are definitely taking advantage of the defund the police movement promoted by the Democrats, it appears businesses are worried about finding workers as many people aren’t willing to put their lives in danger for minimum wage.

Speaking with CNBC, Best Buy chief executive Corie Barry admitted that the thefts in California have caused some potential employees to turn away. “These are traumatic experiences, and they are happening more and more across the country.”

Barry added, “When we talk about why there are so many people looking for other jobs or switching careers, this of course would be something that would play into my concerns for our people because, again, priority one is just human safety,” she said. “And it’s hard to deal with this potentially multiple times in one location.”

Just over the weekend, three stores in San Francisco were looted by a mob of convicts. One of those stores was Nordstrom. Not to mention, multiple employees were assaulted given that the thieves were armed with crowbars and pepper spray.

Another retailer, Walgreens, has closed five of its stores in the last month due to the rise in crime. Walgreens spokesman Phil Caruso noted, “Organized retail crime continues to be a challenge facing retailers across San Francisco, and we are not immune to that. Retail theft across our San Francisco stores has continued to increase in the past few months to five times our chain average. During this time to help combat this issue, we increased our investments in security measures in stores across the city to 46 times our chain average in an effort to provide a safe environment.”

The outlook for California doesn’t look good as a survey by the National Retail Federation found that San Francisco rated fifth on the most affected cities by “organized retail crime.”
