Like many Americans, the constant push and debate over COVID-19 mandates are getting old and annoying to the point that quarterback to the Cleveland Browns recently chastised the NFL over their COVID-19 protocols. Following the decision to place 19 players on the COVID-19 list, ahead of crucial games, Baker Mayfield, blasted off a series of tweets about the absurdity of it all.

On Thursday, Mayfield wrote, “@NFL Make up your damn mind on protocols. Showing up and making only 3 teams test?!? All so you can keep the game as scheduled to make money.”

The star quarterback didn’t stop there, adding a second tweet, “Actually caring about player safety would mean delaying the game with this continuing at the rate it is…. But to say you won’t test vaccinated players if they don’t have symptoms, then to pull this randomly. Doesn’t make any sense to me.”

Due to Mayfield having to miss the upcoming game against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Browns were forced to go with their second-string quarterback. But Case Keenum was recently put on the COVID-19 list and therefore the staff now looked to their third-string quarterback to lead the team.

And continuing his rant, Mayfield hit the NFL with a third tweet, “Tell me if this makes sense…. No tests this morning… then let our team gather for practice… then show up after practice to test them,” Mayfield continued in a third tweet. “Something seems off here.”

In the last two days alone, there have been around 75 players who have tested positive for COVID-19. That far outnumbers the 110 players that were positive in the three months leading up to the outbreak.
