Days after CNN fired Chris Cuomo over actions he took to help his brother Andrew amidst his sexual harassment scandal earlier this year, the network is reportedly preparing to be sued by the former host.

Sources familiar with the matter told The New York Post that Cuomo has lawyered up and planning to sue CNN if the network does not honor the remainder of the four-year contract he signed last year.

Under the terms of this deal, Cuomo stood to make $6 million per year. However, an insider said that CNN has “no intention of paying [Chris] Cuomo a penny.”

“If he gets a settlement, there would be uproar,” this source added, with another insider saying, “CNN has a standard morality clause in their contract that says if the employee does anything of disrepute, they can be immediately fired.”

A spokesman for Cuomo claimed on Sunday that CNN President Jeff Zucker knew “about the details of Mr. Cuomo’s support for his brother,” adding, “There were no secrets about this, as other individuals besides Mr. Cuomo can attest.” CNN immediately fired back by saying that this was not true.

“He has made a number of accusations that are patently false,” the network said in a statement. “This reinforces why he was terminated for violating our standards and practices, as well as his lack of candor.”

A CNN insider later stated that Cuomo’s claims were “absurd” and “patently untrue.”

“If Jeff had known all along, Chris would have been fired earlier, not suspended,” the source continued. “He lied to us.”

On Monday, Cuomo also announced that he will be leaving his SiriusXM show in the wake of his firing from CNN.

“The way my time ended at CNN is hard,” he said in a statement. “While I have a thick skin, I also have a family, for whom the past week has been extraordinarily difficult. So, right now, I have to take a step back and focus on what comes next. That means I will no longer be doing my SiriusXM radio show.”

“I am extremely grateful for the support I have received from SiriusXM throughout my time there,” Cuomo added. “I also want to express my sincere appreciation for my loyal listeners. I will miss our conversations a great deal – but I look forward to being back in touch with you all in the future.”

SiriusXM confirmed to Fox News that Cuomo would be exiting his show.

“Following Chris Cuomo’s statement that he is leaving his SiriusXM show, ‘Let’s Get After It’ will no longer air,” a SiriusXM spokesperson said. “We thank Chris for his work at SiriusXM.”
