With the New Year just a couple of days away, Americans are anxiously awaiting to bring in the new year. Hoping to move past the disaster that was 2021, many Americans are expected to celebrate, party, and enjoy the company of friends and family. And knowing that there will most likely be high levels of happiness, Dr. Anthony Fauci decided to inject himself into the New Year’s conversation by again warning about the dangers of COVID-19 and the new Omicron variant.

Speaking during a White House medical briefing on Wednesday, Dr. Fauci stated, “If your plans are to go to a 40- to 50-person New Year’s Eve party with all the bells and whistles and everybody hugging and kissing and wishing each other a happy new year, I would strongly recommend that this year we do not do that.” He added, “Although the risk is never zero in anything, the risk is low enough that we feel you should continue to go through with those plans of having a home-related vaccinated, boosted gathering with family and close friends who are also vaccinated and boosted.”

Fauci’s comments on the potential case spike due to the New Year comes on the heels of the CDC revising their own COVID-19 guidelines when it comes to how long a person stays in quarantine. The CDC now advises people who test positive but show no symptoms to quarantine for no longer than five days.

And although the Biden administration and Dr. Fauci continue to spread hysteria surrounding COVID-19, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said on Monday, “Not all of those cases are going to be severe. In fact, many are going to be asymptomatic. We want to make sure there is a mechanism by which we can safely continue to keep society functioning while following the science.”
