After a year of struggles and stumbles, it should come as no surprise that most polls predict the Republicans winning big in the 2022 midterm elections. Although the Democrats promised to propel America into the future, inflation is on the rise, gas prices surge, and the Southern border is in shambles. With that in mind, the midterm elections are appearing to be a sweeping wave of red and it seems the GOP already has plans of what some of their first steps will be.

Viewing some of President Joe Biden’s decisions as worrisome, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced plans to bring at least seven investigations into the Biden administration if the GOP takes back the House in 2022.

On Sunday, Axios reported, “McCarthy plans to beef up staff, counsel and other resources to be ready to extract information beginning Day 1 if the GOP gets the gavel.”

Not just claiming to be preparing investigations into President Biden, McCarthy apparently has a list of what he wants to be investigated. They are the following:

  • IRS: Leak of a “vast cache of IRS information” about billionaires to ProPublica.
  • National Security Agency: Tucker Carlson last summer accused the spy agency of targeting his show’s communications. The NSA said he was never an “intelligence target.”
  • Parents: Attorney General Merrick Garland’s vow to mobilize the FBI against “threats of violence against school board members,” after the National School Boards Association used the phrase “domestic terrorism.” The association apologized for its letter.
  • Border: Record levels of illegal immigration.
  • COVID: Origins of the virus, and CDC communications about school closures and mask mandates.
  • Afghanistan: Decisions behind the withdrawal, and an accounting of Americans who remain stranded.
  • JEDI: A disputed cloud-computing contract.

While the polls are continuing to show the GOP winning heavily in the midterms, President Biden recently spoke at a Christmas event and promised that the Democrats would win in 2022.
