After losing to the Kansas City Chiefs, 42-21, Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, is expected to end his career in the NFL and will most likely become a future Hall of Famer for his contribution to the sport. While his last game came in a defeat, the quarterback, who was first drafted back in 2004, appeared to be excited about what the future holds as he spoke about expanding the kingdom of God.
Being an outspoken Christian, Roethlisberger thanked God for all the opportunities he’s been given in his career. He stated, “It’s tough. But I’m proud to play with these guys. God has blessed me with [the] ability to throw a football and has blessed me to play in the greatest city, in Pittsburgh, with the greatest fans and the greatest football team and players. It’s just been truly a blessing and I’m so thankful to Him for the opportunity that He’s given me.”

Adding to his plan in the future, Big Ben would state, “I’m going to do everything I can to be the best husband and father I can be and try and expand God’s kingdom.”
Another reporter would ask the quarterback if he was excited about the next phase in his life. Roethlisberger didn’t hide his feelings. “I’m nervous… No, I am excited. Just because I get to go home tonight. I assume we’re going to make it out and get home. We’ve got snow and so the kids are already playing and tubing and doing sledding and stuff. So being a husband and father, you never take a day off. You got to keep going. And so, as we move from one chapter to the next, it’s going to be different, but it’s going to be fun. It’s going to be a new challenge, and I’m looking forward to it.”
Spending 18 seasons with the Steelers, Roethlisberger would lead the team to two Super Bowls and 12 playoff appearances. He has also garnered the fifth most wins by a starting quarterback and was selected for the Pro Bowl six times.
