Biden’s DOJ Establishing Unit To Focus On Domestic Terrorism

The Department of Justice has announced that it is creating a unit that will focus on “domestic terrorism.” As you can probably tell, this actually means that the Justice Department is launching the unit that will monitor and silence conservative voices that are deemed “threatening” by the leftwing government.

The Associated Press [1] reported that while testifying before Congress on Tuesday, Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen revealed this new unit as he described an “elevated” threat from violent extremists in the United States. He added that since the spring of 2020, the number of FBI investigations into people the government have dubbed to be suspected domestic violent extremists has more than doubled.

“We have seen a growing threat from those who are motivated by racial animus, as well as those who ascribe to extremist, anti-government and anti-authority ideologies,” Olsen continued.

Jill Sanborn, the executive assistant director in charge of the FBI’s national security branch who testified alongside Olsen, chimed in to claim that the greatest threat comes from lone extremists who radicalize online and look to carry out violence at what she described as “soft targets.”

“Racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists are most likely to conduct mass casualty attacks against civilians, and militia violent extremists typically target law enforcement and government personnel and facilities,” she said, according to NPR [2].

In March of last year, FBI Director Christopher Wray testified that the threat from alleged domestic terrorists was “metastasizing.” Leftists have taken that and ran with it as they continue their quest to make anyone who questions their agenda aappear to be “domestic terrorists.”

Republican lawmakers, however, were not having any of it, pointing out Tuesday that both the Justice Department and the FBI have paid far more attention to the Capitol Hill incident that took place on January 6 of last year than they have to the violent racial justice protests that erupted all over the country in 2020, for several months in many cases.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) accused the Department of Justice of “wildly disparate” treatment, while Chuck Grassley of Iowa, the top Republican in the Senate, played clips played trips of the violent racial riots of 2020.
