DEARBORN, MI – According to reports, Michigan-based apparel company Carhartt will carry on with their own COVID jab mandate for employees following the recent Supreme Court ruling that placed said decisions back in the hands of private employers versus that of an OSHA mandate.
Earlier in January, Red Voice Media reported that the Supreme Court upheld a stay prohibiting the Biden administration from using the likes of OSHA to impose a COVID jab/testing (by way of personal expense) mandate on private employers – with the court noting in their decision that a “mandate on 84 million Americans in response to a worldwide pandemic is simply not ‘part of what the agency was built for.”

What the Supreme Court’s ruling did was place the decision to impose COVID jab or testing mandates and requirements back in the hands of states and private employers.
And apparently, Carhartt is all about that jab mandate life, as Carhartt CEO Mark Valade sent an email to all employees informing them that such mandates are staying in place.

“Many of you have asked how the recent Supreme Court decision on the OSHA mandate for large employers will impact our associates so we want to provide some clarity,” Valade said. “This ruling does not change Carhartt’s mandatory vaccination program, which went into effect on January 4th. As you know, we have extended the vaccination deadline for both RCV and Madisonville associates to February 15th. This date also remains in effect.”

Online social and political commentator Jeremy Hambly, known as TheQuartering, who often wears Carhartt apparel on his online show responded to the announced mandate saying that he intends to boycott their products moving forward.
“I spend thousands a year on [Carhartt] hoodies, jackets & winter gear,” he said. “Today that ends. I guess I am looking for alternatives. Seriously, this is insane given their target market. I am done purchasing any of their stuff and giving them thousands in free advertising.”
The move taken by Carhartt in light of the Supreme Court’s decision is a stark contrast from that of General Electric, which Red Voice Media reported on how they were suspending their COVID jab mandate moving forward.
