Taco Bell Employee Just Learned ‘Go Woke, Go Broke’ – Gets Himself Defunded In Washington State

VANCOUVER, WA – A Taco Bell located at 2600 General Anderson (near Vancouver Police Department’s West Precinct) refused service to a uniformed police officer Saturday, and verbally let them know how they felt about police at the same time.

The officer, who we will not be naming for privacy, went to the establishment to order lunch for himself and the rest of his squad. Instead, he was denied service and verbally assaulted.

Red Voice Media had a chance to speak with the officer who attempted to place the order.

The officer said he attempted to place an order with a male cashier, who said he would not take his order. A female cashier said, “Are you really not going to take his order?” to which the male replied, “Nope,” and walked to the back. So the female, who the officer said was actually nice to him, said she would help him.

While she was taking the order, the employees in the back that are paid to cook customers’ food said they were not going to make his. They started making other comments as well, but the officer told us that he couldn’t remember exactly what comments were made. He said, “Something like, ‘We don’t support…’ I don’t know. I just wanted to get out of there.”

That officer’s wife, who was understandably upset over the situation, also spoke with us. “I can’t believe my husband busts his ass every freaking day for that city just to be treated like he’s not a human,” she said. “My mom said I should stand right outside with pro police signs. If I didn’t have [my infant daughter], I would stand out there every damn day with a thin blue line flag!”

We contacted a manager at the Taco Bell on Monday, Shawna, who hadn’t known about the incident. Shawna said she would be discussing it with the weekend manager and then contacting her higher-ups.

On Wednesday, Shawna said she was not able to “discuss incidents that may or may not have happened at the store,” but also said, “We’re serving everybody- there’s no discrimination here.”

We contacted Taco Bell’s Corporate Human Resources department, and on Thursday, Chad contacted RVM and said that the cashier had been terminated.

Further, Taco Bell’s official statement on the incident was as follows:

“Taco Bell and the franchise owner and operator of this location in no way endorse this [anti-police] sentiment. We are deeply appreciative of the men and women who serve and protect our communities and our country. The franchise operator has informed us that the team member is no longer with its organization and the organization has apologized to the police department. The restaurant is also setting up a lunch to acknowledge the service of their local police officers.”

The officer involved said he was disappointed that the employee lost his job over the incident.

Presumably the cooks who declined to make the order are still employed there.
