Rogan Shocked By Trudeau’s Stance On Gun Rights

With gun control becoming a hot topic yet again in America, it seems that the discussion traveled all the way to Canada as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently spoke about the right to own guns for “self-protection”. Although many believe in gun rights, the Prime Minister opposed the idea, causing a storm of backlash from people like famed podcaster Joe Rogan.

On June 14th, while speaking on a podcast, Trudeau stated, “We have a culture where the difference is guns can be used for hunting or for sport shooting in Canada, and there are lots of gun owners and they’re mostly law respecting and law-abiding, but you can’t use a gun for self-protection in Canada.” He added, “That’s not a right that you have, either in the Constitution or anywhere else. If you try and buy a gun and say it’s for self-protection, no, you don’t get that, you can get it for hunting, you can get it for sport shooting, you can take it to the range, no problem, as long as you go through our rigorous background checks.”

Shocked by his statements, Rogan discussed Trudeau while talking with Colion Noir, who is a gun-rights activist. The host said, “He said you don’t have the right in Canada to own a gun to protect your life. It is one of the most wild things I’ve ever seen anybody say, because first of all, I don’t believe it’s true.”

Rogan continued, “People were freaking out reading it, or watching it, because it was just like — it’s such a crazy thing to say that you can’t have a gun to protect yourself. That you do not have the right to own a gun to preserve your life.”

When giving his opinion, Noir couldn’t help but compare Trudeau to President Joe Biden, declaring they were one in the same. Rogan said, “Yeah! Same thing. Both corrupt, both full of s***.”

Users gave their take, explaining, “Law abiding people like me not being able to own certain size magazines won’t stop someone who has all the time in the world to prepare for a terrorist-like attack on the grocery store while I’m looking for dinner.”
