BREVARD COUNTY, FL – According to reports, security for Democratic Senate candidate Val Demings attacked a man earlier in August during a campaign event – violently shoving him to the ground, where the victim was merely doing his job by following the campaign and taking video of the event. The victim wound up having to be treated at an area hospital following the attack.

The incident reportedly occurred on August 6th during a meet-and-greet event at Harry T. & Harriette V. Moore Memorial Park, where Demings was engaging with supporters of her campaign. In the video obtained from the attack, the victim appears to be some kind of a video tracker for the campaign, with a couple of security guards shoving the victim to the ground and start holding him down.

While the victim is being attacked by Demings’ security, he can be heard saying, “What are you doing?” Obviously, the victim wasn’t expecting to be attacked by the security guards, with the aggressors telling the victim, “Don’t do it…You can’t get up. Stay down.”

Local reports state that the guards who assaulted the victim appear to be affiliated with Ardent Protection, specifically executive protection officer Constantino Georgudis and company vice president Wayne Bacon. FEC filings show that Demings’ campaign has paid Ardent Protection over $17,000 since May of 2022 for security services.

Later on in the video from the incident, one of the men who attacked the video tracker could be heard telling the victim, “In corrections, I used to bounce people like you off their head in the jail,” as if to further intimidate the victim who’d already been assaulted.

In response, the video tracker stated, “Except for I don’t do bad things. I’m not one of those people. I’m just doing my job. That’s it. I’ve been good to you guys.”

One of the Ardent Protection employees later told the victim, “Let’s be even keel right now. So don’t take it personal, alright…Moving forward, don’t take it personal.”

Justifiably confused by the statement, the victim asked, “Take what personal,” to which the Ardent Protection employee uttered a veiled threat of, “What’s going to happen to you.”

The victim wound up being treated at an area hospital for various bruises and scrapes, with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office confirming that they were looking into the assault.

Unsurprisingly, Demings’ campaign issued a statement standing by the actions of their hired muscle, asserting that they were simply responding to a “threatening behavior.”

“Security officials take potential threats and threatening behavior toward the Chief seriously. In this instance, the individual did not respond to multiple requests to leave and charged at security personnel in pursuit of Chief Demings’ approaching vehicle.”

Demings is currently running to unseat Republican incumbent U.S. Senator Marco Rubio in the upcoming midterms.
