When Joe Manchin started saying that he was on board with the new democrat spending bill, we all knew something was up. When he laughably told us that it would fight inflation, we all knew something was up.
And it sure is. It’s called quid pro quo.
It’s a payoff to Senator Manchin to vote for insanity.
Joe Biden, Chuckie Schumer and Nancy Pelosi put their heads together (don’t laugh) and offered Manchin a deal he couldn’t pass up. In exchange for his vote on their spending deal, he’s going to get his Mountain Valley pipeline completed – or so he thinks.
Funny how he didn’t mention the bribe early on when he was promoting the $739 billion monstrosity of a bill.
Larry, Curly and Moe offered Manchin this pipeline payoff promise in a one-page summary to “require the relevant agencies to take all necessary actions to permit the construction and operation of the Mountain Valley Pipeline and give the DC Circuit jurisdiction over any further litigation.”
These three democrats, who rarely lie about anything, have promised to pursue permitting reform legislation this year in an effort to lasso in Manchin for his vote.
So screwing over the rest of the country with this vote doesn’t seem to be a concern for Manchin as long as he has “secured a commitment” with Biden, Schumer and Pelosi for a Mountain Valley pipeline to be completed that will never carry any West Virginia gas in it.
Does anyone actually believe that this pipeline will be completed – or if it is built, that it will deliver fracked gas to anyone? NO. Not with the climate change nuts around to stop it, many of which are in the elected democratic party.
Manchin is truly delusional if he thinks he’s going to get what he wants. And it’s pathetic that he’s in a position to be bribed at all – and he accepted the bribe.
With Manchin on board, the democrats are hoping to push their spending bill through easily with reconciliation but Senator Kyrsten Sinema’s vote is still up in the air.
Wonder what they’ll bribe her with?
