PHOENIX, AZ – On September 1st, Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake held a press conference in Phoenix where she took aim at the rhetoric spun by Joe Biden during a national address he delivered in Philadelphia the same day. Furthermore, the Republican firebrand also took some shots at the mainstream media during the presser.

On the evening of September 1st, Biden delivered a speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia where the president decided not to attack the likes of just a political opponent – but decided to attack the supporters of the former president.

While on stage, Biden claimed that “MAGA Republicans” are now an active “threat” to society.

“MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards. Backwards to an America where there is no right to choose. No right to privacy. No right to contraception. No right to marry who you love. They promote authoritarian leaders, and they fan the flames of political violence. They are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country.”

A great deal of Biden’s comments during his address were aimed at MAGA Republicans and trying to paint them as some kind of dire threat needing to be cast out of polite society – ironically, with Biden being completely oblivious to the fact that his very own rhetoric during the speech could be construed as “fanning the flames of political violence.”

Republican gubernatorial candidate Lake mentioned Biden’s address delivered shortly before her presser in Phoenix, stating that the affair was both “absurd” and “obscene” in tone and content.

“I don’t know if you all just came from your newsrooms and if you happened to see what I just happened to see, but I watched the most absurd, frankly obscene address I’ve ever seen a President give to the American people. What I saw was somebody who’s trying to divide this country. I’m not sure what’s wrong with Joe Biden. I know that he may have problems that we don’t know about. But what I saw with him was somebody who carries in his heart a great deal of disdain for a whole lot of really good American people.”

Lake took particular issue with Biden’s comments suggesting that MAGA Republicans and America First supporters were somehow ushering in an era of “violence,” with Lake saying that Biden was clearly “projecting” with the aforementioned sentiments.

“One of the things that Biden said that was really upsetting was this push about violence. The America First movement is not about violence. It’s about bringing this country together and putting our country first. He’s projecting that – he’s projecting that because he’s worried. What he sees out there when he sees moms and dads, regular people stepping up and running for office, he sees that as an existential threat to his political career.”
