With the 2022 midterm elections just weeks away, both Democrats and Republicans are pushing hard to further their respective candidates and policies. As Democrats have been struggling over the last two years and Republicans continue to highlight those failures, it seems that Democrats like Stacey Abrams are willing to do and say anything to get a vote, even toe the line of “crazy.”

Abortion has been a hot topic in America since the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, making abortion a state issue. Democrats quickly criticized the ruling while activists protested in the streets, sometimes naked and sometimes violently. Most recently, with Abrams hoping to beat Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, the Democrat made an outlandish claim that goes against the many scientific studies currently published: She claimed that a fetus does not have a heartbeat at six weeks.

Although some might already be debating her statement, that wasn’t all Stacey Abrams had to say. In the video below, the Democrat stated, “There is no such thing as a heartbeat at six weeks. It is a manufactured sound designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of a woman’s body.”

It should be noted that Democrats often call Trump supporters conspiracy theorists, while their own party members make tin-foil-hat-style claim that the heartbeat of a child is manufactured. Not all that surprising, this wasn’t the first time Abrams made such a statement. On Wednesday, she tweeted, “When a woman is forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term, they’re 4x more likely to end up in poverty and 60% less likely to stay employed full-time. Outlawing abortion perpetuates the cycle of poverty that disproportionately affects Black + Brown women & harms our economy.”

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Stacey Abrams is falling behind in the polls due to not gaining support from the black community. A recent poll found she had 79% of the black vote, but the outlet noted, “Democrats typically poll at least 10 percentage points higher with black voters.” She currently sits at 75% among black men. “Abrams would need to hold an event designed to garner more support among Black Georgians in the final stretch of her campaign for governor is emblematic of one of the more surprising — and for Abrams, troubling — developments in the race.”

Knowing the numbers, Stacey Abrams tried to appeal to black men at a recent rally, suggesting, “I am not a black man, but I’ve been raised by one. And I am always going to say that if black men stand with me and vote for me and work with me, we can change the future of Georgia.”

Users online added their voices, writing, “My wife and I were longtime dems. One reason we switched to independent was the way Dems look at voters. They don’t care about individuals, they only care about voting ‘blocs.’ They don’t want YOUR vote — they just want the majority of votes from people who LOOK like you — black, Hispanic, female…whatever. Your personal concerns do not concern THEM. That’s why it’s so easy for them to ignore you the moment the election is over — they already ignored YOU BEFORE the election.”
